Professional Athlete
Hinshaw is a former All American swimmer and world-class professional triathlete. His top international finishes includes a 2nd place overall finish at the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships, 2nd place overall finish at the Ironman World Championships in Canada, and a 1st place overall finish at Ironman Brazil.
CrossFit Experience
In 2016, CrossFit Headquarters selected Coach Chris as their Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) in Aerobic Capacity. He is also a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CrossFit Competitor Course certified, Endurance Course certified, CrossFit Mobility certified, and CrossFit Judge. He has been a CrossFit athlete since 2008.
Hinshaw currently shares his coaching and endurance programming through aerobiccapacity.com and travels the world teaching his coaching & training methodology via his Aerobic Capacity Course (AC-L1). He is very excited about his next two project to be released later this year: The first project is the Aerobic Capacity “On-Line” Course. The AC-L1 0n-Line Course will include all the leading edge AC-L1 content and more. The second project is the Aerobic Capacity 2-hour Intensive. The AC 2-hour Intensive will only be available to AC-L1 Ambassadors looking to build their respective Aerobic Capacity community.
Coaching Experience
He is the endurance coach to hundreds of athletes and professionals that range from the recreational fitness enthusiast to the FDNY, USMS, US Army, Special Forces, FBI, Olympians, and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu World Champions and more than 50 podium individuals & teams since the 2013 CrossFit® Games including Jeff Adler, Mat Fraser, Rich Froning, Justin Medeiros, Jason Khalipa, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Katrín Davíðsdóttir, Tia Clair Toomey, Kristin Holte, Kara Webb, Sara Sigmundsdóttir, Julie Foucher, and Roman Khrennikov.
Personal Details
Hinshaw graduated in 1989 with a BS in Business Administration and a Concentration in Finance from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. His favorite cheat meal is Ruffles potato chips (low fat with sea salt) and onion dip. He was born in Mountain View, CA and currently resides in Camas, Washington.
