The unique part of the paid programming is the personalized target pacing for your workouts, which is not available via the website. What makes the program work, is training with the correct stimulus. Without individualized target pacing, you would have a hard time improving your threshold efficiently. Pacing targets are generated based on your past performance history (It’s tied to your PRs and progress). Regarding the workouts, they are designed in a particular training progression to optimize the results, not workout of the week which could be randomly picked on the website every week.
Metron is a subscription service with 3 different commitments.
- Monthly at a higher per month fee basis.
- Biannual, with a cheaper per month net cost, billed up front and then every 6 months.
- Annual, with the biggest savings, billed upfront recurring on the next year’s billing date.
We usually recommend Running: Develop Your Engine & Stamina as step 1. It’s designed to build up your resistant to fatigue and provides personalized run pacing goals after baseline runs are inputted. Once you have the foundation, you can use the other programs to build up the volume (be able to run longer).
The running protocols are designed to be completed outdoors. There are specific days on your plan that will require, hills, sprints and sled pushes.
The workout pacing will not transfer to a row or bike unless you sign up to a training plan the specifies it is included. See the Training Plans under the main menu drop down.
Yes and No. This program is designed for CrossFit coaches, trainers, and athletes of all levels. No prior experience with endurance coaching and training is required to participate. However, you do need to be in good health and should always seek clearance with a DR before starting any exercise activity.
If you’re injured and the injury affects running or any other endurance related to exercise, you, unfortunately, cannot participate.
Chris uses the same assessment and programming method for every athlete he coaches. It should be regarded that while Chris has had enormous success with CrossFit Games athletes, he has had the same success with other athlete types over throughout his 30+ years of experience.
The workout track is designed by the program author. When you reach the end of the specifically designed workout cycle, you will be recycled back to the beginning. The good thing about Metron is that each time you come to a new workout whether it be Day 1 of a program and or the last day it will personalize to your last performance data. This means it is always a new workout based on improvements and or degradations making is a plan build for you.
No. The free program accessed through the website aerobic capacity is 1 to many offered on a weekly basis. If you want more features like, logging and tracking your workouts with personalization, please browse the premium programs offered via the Metron platform under Training Plans above.
We do offer permanent military discount to both active military AND former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. To qualify, please provide those followings

We do have ability to pause your membership, you will be able to pause anytime up to 6 weeks via Manage Subscription menu option. Feel free to reach out to us if you need to extend beyond that period.
No. But, the unique thing about our platform is you can search goal specific programs that will personalize to you. That means when you track and train metron AVP technology will evaluate your performance and update your plan. The more you log the more the platform will update unique exercises and estimate what you can actually do via the coaches intended modality.

All workouts in our system will be personalized based on your latest performance testing data. Metron’s platform utilizes tools that help create the most accurate workouts based on your athletic level and goals.
None of my elite or recreational athletes have experienced any reduction in their max lifts. In fact, every athlete has continued to set new personal records. In many cases, those PRs occur on the same day a workout is performed. As an example, Camille recently set a 200 lb snatch PR on the same day she ran 6800m on the track. Camille is in her 3rd year of programming. Matt Fraser recently ran 3x(3x600m) with 40-second rest between reps and 4 minutes between round; 3 hours later he hit a personal record with his clean at 375lbs. Another example, Rich Froning set PRs in his vertical jump, should press, back squat, and deadlift and clean during his first 16 weeks of programming.

- Aerobic Threshold: Steady workouts at a moderate intensity to develop fuel efficiency (burn fat), musculoskeletal system, and aerobic endurance.
- Lactate Threshold: Higher volume workouts with longer distance intervals at higher “threshold” intensities with less rest between reps and sets.
- VO2 Max: Lower volume workouts, shorter distance intervals at higher intensities, and more rest between reps and sets.
- Speed Endurance: Very low volume workouts with interval distances less than 60sec. Extremely high intensities. Used to recruit fast twitch fibers and force them to develop endurance. Full recovery between reps and sets.
- Strength Endurance: Low volume workouts with high-intensity intervals that include various explosive movements to recruit and develop your fast twitch muscle fibers.
We will occasionally include nutritional content although the core of this program is concentrated on developing your performance through aerobic capacity training.
No, we currently don’t have the marathon plan yet.
Running: Develop Your Engine & Stamina should work well for you since it is designed to boost your performance and resistant to fatigue at the same time (the program is designed for distances between 400m to 5K). Since you are already training with a lot of volume, improving your 4mi time shouldn’t be a problem.
We do not currently have an mobile app, but I can share that we are in mobile app development estimating q1 2017 release. The Metron platform utilizes the web browser on mobile or desktop in an optimized-mobile experience.
We are evaluating your progress on a weekly basis. The programmed workouts must be completed within a week period to move forward to the following week. The Aerobic Capacity program is a weekly progression that must be followed to maximize the results.
